Tulip Time is one of our favorite times of the year—for good reason! There’s a lot to be excited for, from walking in the tulip fields to plays, dances, and carnivals. However, we know that all of the fun Tulip Time activities can sometimes feel overwhelming. So, we’ve put together this 2023 Tulip Time Itinerary to help you navigate all of the events.
NOTE: You don’t need a ticket to visit Holland, MI or see acres of tulips throughout the city. However, several special Tulip Time events and activities listed below will require you to purchase tickets in advance, so be sure to plan ahead.
Whether you spend a day in Holland or a week, here are our day to day recommendations for Tulip Time this year!

Saturday, May 6:
Tulip Time Run - 8 AM - 12 PM.
Experience the beauty of Holland as you run through the tulip-lined streets! The Tulip Time Run offers an event for everyone — a 5K, 10K and Kids’ Fun Run. (Location: Kollen Park)
Artisan Market - 10 AM - 5 PM.
Shop over 200 vendors at the Artisan Market! Find a food truck and pop-up Dutch Dance performances throughout the market event times. And best of all, it’s FREE to attend! (Location: Ottawa County Fairgrounds)
Wine Tasting and Two Bones Food Truck at Tanglewood Winery - 2 PM - 8 PM.
A full day of fun activities can take it out of you! So, if you are looking for a relaxing place to rest your mind and your feet, join us at the Tasting Room. We have an array of award-winning wines for you to choose from along with our collection of limited-release wines that you can ONLY get at Tanglewood.
Not only will we have fan-favorite wines, but the Two Bones Food Truck will be joining us from 4 PM - 8PM. Stop by for a bite to eat and you might just find your new favorite wine! (Location: Tanglewood Winery)
Sunday, May 7:
VIP Walking Tour - 10 AM - 1:30 PM.
Follow a costumed guide to learn more about Holland's history along a two-mile walking tour. After the walk, have a seat at the CityFlatsHotel and enjoy a skyrise view of Holland's Windmill. You will then be served gourmet hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary glass of wine or nonalcoholic beverage. Your host of the half hour private reception will be none other than Holland's Mayor! (Location: Window on the Waterfront)
Get Your Tickets!: $85 per person. Timed tickets are required for this event. Must be 21+ to participate.
Artisan Market - 10 AM - 5 PM.
Shop over 200 vendors at the Artisan Market! Find a food truck and pop-up Dutch Dance performances throughout the market event times. And best of all, it’s FREE to attend! (Location: Ottawa County Fairgrounds)
Dutch Organ Concert - 7 PM - 8 PM.
Enjoy Dutch organ music — old and new (from 1521 to Today)! This year, Sider Edgington will be joined by Holland organist Jane Bosko for a four-hand organ duet, and Dr. Sarah Southard of Hope College on oboe. (Location: Hope Church)

Monday, May 8:
Tulip Time Photo Walk - 8 AM - 10 AM and 7 PM - 9 PM.
For those who love photography, this is the perfect time to see one of Holland’s top tourist attractions during hours when there are no or limited crowds. Join Chris Sprik and Sandie Coffman on an exclusive early morning or evening photo shoot of Windmill Island Gardens in full bloom! (Location: Meet at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the class at the entrance booth in the parking lot at Windmill Island Gardens.)
Get Your Tickets: $40 per person
Floral Arranging - 10 AM and 2 PM.
Learn the art of floral arranging from Huisman Flowers’ award-winning floral designers while creating your own beautiful floral masterpiece! The class will include all supplies and should last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. (Location: Huisman Flowers)

Art in Bloem Fine Art Showcase - 10 AM to 5 PM.
Come and enjoy the work of the top 20 finalists in Tulip Time's 2023 First Bloem artwork competition! You can participate in the Viewers’ Choice Awards by voting for your favorite image at this FREE exhibit! (Location: Civic Center)
Wine Tasting and Zason Latino at Tanglewood Winery - 4 PM - 8 PM.
Looking for an easy dinner and an excuse to try some local wines? Join us at the Tasting room after your Tulip Time festivities for a glass of wine and a taco or two! The Zason Latino Food Trailer will be with us from 5 PM - 8 PM. (Location: Tanglewood Winery)
Tuesday, May 9:
Historic Walking Tours - 8:30 AM - 5 PM.
Follow a costumed guide on a fun and informative 1-hour walking tour! You’ll see many of the tulip displays and find numerous photo opportunities along the way. Everyone will also be given a personal set of headphones so that you’ll be able to hear your tour guide easily. (Location: Window on the Waterfront)
NOTE: Tours are available daily Saturday, May 6 through Sunday, May 14, 2023 starting on the half hour. Get your tickets early!
Tickets for Historic Walking Tours: $45 per person
Wine Tasting and Zason Latino at Tanglewood Winery - 4 PM - 8 PM.
It may be Tulip Time, but it’s also Taco Tuesday! Join us for a glass of wine and some mouthwatering tacos. Zason Latino will be serving food from 5 PM - 8 PM. (Location: Tanglewood Winery)
FiddleFire! - 7 PM - 8:30 PM.
FiddleFire will be performing for their 10th year at Tulip Time. They are known for their exceptional talent, humor, and charm in addition to their fiddles, guitar, bass, mandolin, and percussive clogging! Feel like part of the family during this show full of foot stomping and light-hearted storytelling. (Location: Central Wesleyan Church)

Wednesday, May 10:
Tall Ship Dockside Tours - 10 AM - 4 PM.
Come aboard the tall ship Friends Good Will, a replica of Great Lakes sloop from 1810 owned and operated by the Michigan Maritime Museum. (Location: Boatwerks North Dock)

Life is better with tulips and wine! Come spend your Tulip Time downtime with us at the Tasting Room and we’ll set you up with the perfect stems! We have an array of award-winning wines for you to choose from along with our collection of limited-release wines that can only be found at Tanglewood. (Location: Tanglewood Winery)
American Legion Band Concert - 7 PM - 8:30 PM.
Enjoy the American Legion Band, filled with prolific musicians who have performed in the Holland community, across the state, country, and the world! (Location: Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts)

Thursday, May 11:
Kinderparade (Children's Parade) - 1:30 PM - 4 PM. (Rain date is May 12, 2023)
The Kinderparade is a time-honored favorite during Tulip Time. Elementary school children will line up with their teachers and school administrators in full costume and march together through downtown Holland. Dozens of bands from West Michigan middle and high schools will showcase their talents as well! And you won’t want to miss the adorable Dutch Dogs!
Parade Route: 8th street from Columbia and Kollen Park.

Friday, May 12:
Tulip Immersion Garden - 9 AM - 4 PM.
Come see World renowned Dutch horticulturist, Ibo Gülsen's stunning display of over 65,000 tulips in three raised and immersive displays. (Location: Beechwood Church — FREE parking)
Get Your Tickets: Tickets are sold for 1-hour, on-the-hour time slots: 9 AM - 3 PM. They are $15 per person ($5 for children 3-12 yrs, and FREE for children 2 and under).
Tulip Time Quilt Show - 10 AM - 5 PM.
Enjoy looking at a display of over 100 intricate quilts, wall hangings, and art quilts created by local artists. You can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind quilt! (Location: Beechwood Church — FREE parking)

Wine Tasting and Dune Buggy Food Truck at Tanglewood Winery - 4 PM - 8 PM
Join us for an unforgettable evening! Not only will we have our fan-favorite wines available, but we will also have the Dune Buggy food truck with us for the night. Expect a night full of food, friends, and fun! (Location: Tanglewood Winery)
Sara Evans - 7 PM - 10 PM.
See Sara Evans, the fifth most-played female artist on country radio in nearly the last two decades, perform live! She earned the Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist as well as numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy Awards nominations. (Location: Central Wesleyan Church)

Saturday, May 13:
Volksparade - 2 PM - 4 PM.
Come and see dozens of bands from West Michigan middle and high schools showcase their talents! AKA the People's Parade, this event is popular with residents and visitors alike.
Parade Route: 8th from Columbia to Van Raalte and 24th.
Buy Volksparade Grandstand Seats!: $18 per person.

Wine Tasting and the Dunegrass Band at Tanglewood Winery - 2 PM - 8 PM.
Hailing from Holland, Dunegrass will be joining us from 5-8 PM! There’s no better way to spend your evening than with some live music and a full glass of wine. The only thing that could make it better would be fireworks…(Location: Tanglewood Winery)
FIREWORKS! - 8 PM - 11 PM.
Don’t miss the FREE grand finale of the 2023 Tulip Time Festival! Come early to enjoy the activities, music and food leading up to the start of the fireworks. (Location: Kollen Park; display starts at dusk.)
Sunday, May 14:
Bicycle Showband Crescendo - 11 AM -11:30 AM, 2 PM - 2:30 PM, and 7 PM - 7:30 PM.
We wouldn’t call Bicycle Showband Crescendo an ordinary band… Traveling from the Netherlands to the U.S. for the first time ever, Crescendo will be bringing their instruments, their traditional Volendam (Dutch) costumes, and their bicycles! It’s a show you won’t want to miss—all performances are free to attend. (Location: Ray and Sue Smith Stadium)
Carnival - 1 PM - 8 PM.
Carnival Midway is bringing only their best rides for Tulip Time! It’s the perfect place to let your kids get out some of their energy. Wristbands are available at the Midway entrance. Be sure to visit www.skerbeck.com for daily schedule and wristband/ticket information. (Location: Civic Center Lot)
Wristbands: $30 per session
Individual tickets: $1.50 each or buy a sheet of 50 for $60

And if you aren’t able to visit us during Tulip Time this year, you can always give us a visit any Friday from 4-8 PM or Saturday from 2-8 PM. We will be happy to see you, no matter the time!
