The Story Behind the Name
So why Big Red?
The name pays tribute to one of the most iconic symbols of our hometown: the Holland Harbor Lighthouse, affectionately known by locals and visitors alike as “Big Red.”
Standing tall on the south side of the Holland Channel, this historic lighthouse has long served as a beacon for sailors and a beloved landmark for beachgoers. Today, it's Michigan’s most photographed lighthouse—a bright red symbol of home, history, and Holland’s Lake Michigan spirit.
We couldn’t think of a better name for this bold Michigan red wine!
